If you're using photoshop, here is a much more detail steps on how to create your watermark. Once you're satisfied with all your post processing work to your image, click on the “text” button (button with a “T” sign). Click and drag the mouse on the section of your image that you want to add the wordings in. Type in your words and then edit the format (eg. Font type, size, colour, etc) Next click on the text layer (should be the highest layer now) one time and the text will be set it. You should also adjust the opacity of the text layer (how transparent is your words) as you would not want the words to be to strong and steal the focus of your image. Once all this is done, flatten your image (layers >> flatten image) and save your image file. You could also save it as an action so you can keep using it next time.
After a few practice, you should be able to do this very quickly once you have gotten used to it.
